Charlotte, North Carolina - Suffolk Men's Soccer sophomores Kaanturk Akgul And Cristian Parra Alvarez were rewarded for an excellent 2023 season as both were named to the 2023 NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-America Team as announced by the NJCAA. Akgul grabbed All-American First Team honors, while Cristian Parra Alvarez picked up All-America Second Team accolades.  

Akgul, a 2023 All-Region 15 First Team selection, was dominant during the 2023 season, ranking in the top ten in the country in five offensive categories. The sophomore finished second nationally with 85 shots behind 2023 Region 15 Player of the Year Marc Augustin while also tying fourth with him in the country with 22 markers on the season with seven multi-goal games in 18 contests. Akul buried five game-winning goals and registered 57 points, ranking fifth in the country, while his 13 assists ranked seventh.

Alvarez, who also received 2023 All-Region 15 First Team honors, started 16 games and helped anchor a Shark backline that was tops in the nation with 11 shutouts on the year while contributing four goals, one of them a game-winner, five assists, and 13 points for a Suffolk squad that finished the season with a 17-2 record overall and second place finish in the Region 15 regular season standings with an 11-2 mark.
