Women's Cross Country Ranked Sixth in National Poll
Suffolk Community College's women's cross country team entered the NJCAA Division III national rankings at 6th place. The ladies made a splash on the top 10 list after finishing 8th out of 19 mostly four-year institutions at the Bard College Invitational on September 20. The Sharks are led by freshman Leana Wiebelt of Ward Melville, who finished the 5K course in 10th place (out of 177) in a personal best time of 18:59. The talented squad of harriers also include sophomore Melanie Sterling (Connetquot), and freshmen Bernadette Calabrese (Bayshore), Ashlee Rommeney (Sachem East), Nora DiMaria (Commack), and Eva Dziadula (Longwood).
Next up for the Sharks is the College of Staten Island Invitational on September 27.
